Process & Pricing

I have three ways of shooting: Traditional, Sit Free, and the HochShot Headshot Party.

Traditional

The Traditional route gets you an unlimited session with unlimited looks for $650. You get two fully touched-up, printable images with that, and you can get additional images touched up for $75 each. Simple and straightforward. Classic.

Sit Free

The Sit Free option is revolutionary in the headshot industry: you don’t pay anything up front. We’ll shoot for 90 minutes and then I’ll deliver all the images to you in an online gallery. You get to look through all of them, and only if you love your shots and want them touched up do you pay me anything.

People have told me it’s crazy to shoot for free, but I don’t see it that way. I’m taking on the risk if you don’t like my work, which is how it should be. Once you’ve had a chance to review everything, you let me know which images you want touched up and only then do you have a cost. So you pay for what you get. And I’m confident you’ll like the results, so it doesn’t feel like a risk to me. 🙂

Here’s how it works:

  1. We schedule a time to shoot.
  2. We take several hundred pictures.
  3. I send you a link to an online gallery.
  4. You look through them, send to your representation, trusted advisors, friends, etc. and make decisions about which photos you want to use for submissions, prints, etc.
  5. You let me know which ones you want to use and pay for the edits.
  6. I touch them up and send them back to you.
  7. You let me know if I missed anything or if you want something changed.
  8. I send them back. Everyone is overjoyed with how amazing they look.
  9. You get called in all the time and book gig after gig after gig.
  10. Fin.

Here’s how the prices work:

  • 1st Image touched up: $300
  • 2nd Image touched up: $250
  • 3rd Image touched up: $200
  • 4th Image touched up: $150
  • 5th & each additional: $100

HochShot Headshot Party

The Headshot Party is another spin on the traditional headshot session. Think of it as a wedding photo booth – who doesn’t love those? – with professional pictures instead of counted-down snapshot quadriptychs. The atmosphere is fun and convivial, and you get to see what works and what doesn’t in real time, as there will be a display monitor showing the images as I shoot them. Come with friends and hang out. Watch me work with other actors as we craft the perfect shots for them. Try some things out. We’ll have some drinks and snacks and it’ll be a good time.

The pricing structure includes a minimal entry charge to cover the basic costs, but after that, it’s just like the Sit Free option in that you pay only for what you want touched up – and at reduced rates. So in that way, this is the budget option. I figure that’s only fair since I’m not devoting all my attention to you. Does that compromise the quality of the photos? I don’t think so. In fact, if that’s the right atmosphere for you, then the pictures will be better than if you’re there by yourself.

Normally, headshots are a solitary endeavor and it can feel like too much pressure is being placed on one day. This approach takes that pressure away and allows you to relax. And what’s the key to great photos? Being relaxed, of course. So I think the end result is that your pictures are better.

Here’s how it works:

  1. You sign up for a HochShot Headshot Party and pay the entry fee.
  2. You come to the Party and get tons of awesome pictures, while hanging out, watching other people’s results in real-time, and making notes about what you like and want to try.
